Last August 04, 2012. I had my very first workshop on Nikon at Ateneo De Davao University. The experience was indeed fun and great! I learned a lot of things. I got confused about most of the terms since I am still newbie and still processing the challenges in photography. hehe I was amazed on the other people who was there. Their camera was pretty amazing! hahaha!
Plus the great freebies that we got during the workshop!
These are some of the freebies we got during the workshop a wristbands and a bagtag. Plus some magazines, cloth bag of a Nikon and a fan. hihi. The most exciting part was Bela Padilla was our model during the photo shoot. It was my first time to take a fashion shoot and having Bela Padilla as the model was indeed fun and bless full one!
Taadaaa! These are some of the pictures I got while taking shots of her. hihi
Feedback about the shot i got is very much welcome! and again, it was my first time to photo shoot a fashion shoot. hehe
You can view more pictures here.

The World According To Me
Those are some really cute freebies
Model is definitely gorgeous!
You’re a talented photographer indeed.
Wow! Cool freebies and for a newbie your photos are amazing. Keep it up!
wow! not all of us can grab such opportunity like that! blessed girl.
keep it up! enjoy!
That’s so cool! Great pictures. I like the first one best. And if I may say, I don’t think the second one came from the right angle. But those are great pictures!
I need to keep my eye out for such a workshop. I didn’t even know they had these!
Love the shot sis. Haha Post some more.
It takes a while to get used to taking fashion photos but once you get the hang of it, it goes on
Nakakainggit. May mga tumblr friends din ako na nakajoin diyan. Sana magkaron din ng Nikon workshop na malapit sa area namin.
Namigay din sila ng camera diba? Ata. Basta nakita ko sa isang post sa tumblr na that person won the camera ; A ; Inggit so much.
Beautiful shots! hope i can join seminars like that, kaingit! love the freebies!
Yay for freebies! The workshop sounds like a lot of fun. I’ve never heard of anything like this. I bet my boyfriend would love an opportunity like this. He’s really in to photography.
Your pictures look great by the way.
I love the shots sis.. Wish am I as good as you too in taking pics.. but before that, maybe i should get myself a good cam first.. lol
my advice would be… try to avoid taking pictures at angles that don’t flatter the model’s features.. The second feature I think shows a bit of her double chin.
A Hint of Sunlight
Hi Jhen! Do you still remember me? maybe not. haha!
but anyway, cool workshop! sana may ganyan din dito samin. hihi
Those are some amazing shots, Jhen! Keep it up and you might just become a professional photographer, if that’s what you wish to be.
I don’t know much about photography, what with me being too lazy to bother with the adjustments a DSLR cam would require, but there is such clarity and definition in your shots that leaves me spellbound.
Thanks for the concern, Jhen. Yes, I agree with you they have been bad. Luckily the sun is shining now. It looks like God is giving us an opportunity to recover after that lesson He taught us. ;)
Where in the Philippines are you from btw?
That’s cool that you went to a Nikon workshop! It sounds like a great place to learn more about photography.
The photos look good for your first time! A tip is to watch out for body parts you accidentally cut out and to find flattering angles. On the first one, I think the photo cuts out too soon, so it would have been nice to see her whole arm. I think the second one could be more flattering by putting her face more at an angle than straight on. Hope that helps!
awesome, your model is bella padilla
nice photos! and lucky you to have bella padilla as your model <3
i feel for you with the terms. me and my slr are still not friends even though we've been together for almost a year </3 i still love my handy point and shoot kasi and i use them interchangeably.
this is what greeted me when i opened my facebook account, my older sister posting her new photos taken from the Nikon seminar. How i wish i could have been there. I really want to learn from the pro’s again.
Nice shots btw sis. You’re into photography na din pala. I’m sure you’ll love it more once you get to learn more about it
Buti pa ngayon na seminar, last time wala masyadong freebies
Wow the quality of the photos are amazing! Canons and Nikons are the best!
I like how you took the picture of her in profile. Looks good!!

Nice! ;) Awesome shot!
Naw! I’m jealous! I miss shooting!
Superb Jeni! Lemme be your model! haha
Great Shots! I do have a Nikon but don’t know how to use it.. o.O I thought I would learn to use the cam, but laziness strikes me all the time.
The tags are awesome.. I would want to get one.. but I’ll probably only use it when I officially learn how to shoot. lol.
Ahh I love the photos – wonderful job. It’s so great that you got this opportunity. I’m a Canon girl, but nothing against Nikon people at all. It is hard getting used to the terms in photography when you’re just a beginner but if you’re really keen you’ll get used to it in no time. :))
I also am a newbie in using my Nikon camera. Just had it 2 weeks ago.
Great shots also! I wish I stumbled upon a workshop here in Manila for photography too
